AKG D12 VR Large-diaphragm Dynamic Microphone for Bass Drum
The D12 VR is a reference large-diaphragm dynamic microphone with cardioid polar pattern. Designed specifically for kick-drum recording applications, the microphone has a thin diaphragm to enhance the low frequency performance. Its warm sound is realized by the original C414 transformer, especially impressive at high signal levels. AKG's original D12 was (and still is) a cracking kick drum mic, that also sounded great when picking up bass cabs for recording applications and the new version has got a couple of tricks up its sleeve to really help enhance your drum recordings including three active filter presets to match its sound shape with the kick drum's character. When activated, the output level is automatically reduced by 10 dB. AKG D12 VR Active Dynamic Kick Drum Microphone Features: Active dynamic microphone, fine-tuned for kick drum applications Operates passively without phantom power Applying phantom power allows you to access three different filter curves Filter 1 adds low-frequency boost for depth and power Filter 2 is a midrange cut that opens up sonic room for other instruments Filter 3 combines the first two filters, and adds a presence boost for clarity C414 transformer adds sonic richness to high-level signals Ultra-thin diaphragm and bass-optimized capsule chamber capture huge bass tones Cardioid polar pattern, with up to 25dB signal rejection of off-axis sounds Excellent for use in both studio and live applications
